Microsoft Re-branded Some Office 365 Commercial Plans

New product names for Office 365

The new product names go into effect on April 21, 2020. This is a change to the product name only, and there are no pricing or feature changes at this time.

Re-branding Details

  • Office 365 Business Essentials becomes Microsoft 365 Business Basic.
  • Office 365 Business Premium becomes Microsoft 365 Business Standard.
  • Microsoft 365 Business becomes Microsoft 365 Business Premium.
  • Office 365 Business and Office 365 ProPlus both become Microsoft 365 Apps.

Plans Not Affected

  • Office 365 for Enterprise (E1, E3, E5)
  • Office 365 for Firstline (F1)
  • Office 365 for Education (A1, A3, A5)
  • Office 365 for Government (G1, G3, G5)

Note that the changes to these products will all happen automatically.
